More Bathing!

What's that Marlee? You're going on vacation and haven't packed yet? You should probably make a bathingsuit.

Maillot!

Well, having gotten over my fear of zig-zag stitches, I can now successfully make swim trunks. I'm going to Europe, so obviously I don't need a top. Anyway, one pair is high-waisted, the other, scandalously too scant. More to come (literally more fabric this time).

Birdmask for Jungle Prom 2011

Each Valentines Day our little northern town participates in a People's Prom where the proceeds go to the local university radio and food bank.
Though Prom is a costume style theme on it's own and people are encouraged to wear whatever they like be it fancy, hideous, casual or costume. Generally our creativity oozing pals go in themed costume.
The 2011 theme was Jungle Fever. My scrambled together during midterms costume was a Birdhead mask over a frawk swapped dress. The mask has a bent cardboard skull, painted in acrylic though that step may have be unnecessary and hotglued on feathers.

Sultan of Sting

This piece came together from the amalgam of old watch parts and a dried wasp carcass. The item was designed with an entymology interested friend in mind. The inscription is Sultan of Sting for she is also quick with a barb.

the facets on the watch cover make it look like post-mortem wing action

the one that got away

This is a painting I started years ago for my dad and didn't "finish" until x-mas 2010. Pa is an ancient and rugged old woodsman who has won various accolades for prize kills. Now he prefers to watch majestic beasts instead of bringing them their doom. This is a tribute to the one that got away. The picture quality is pretty blurrtastic.

so fast its blurry

cross stitch & acrylic paint

cross stitch patch depicting spools of thread with their accompanying spools of as yet unwoven material.

repainted mini koosh bubble gun to look like roughly hewn metal phaser. finished with layer of children's school glue.

edit: school glue was a terrible idea as this item sees various weather such as rain which will dissolve and peel the glue. clear nail polish is the suggested alternative.

Vegan (?) Dissected Rat

This is a rat (not my pattern) that I made for my scientist brother so he would leave real rats alone.
